ExcellerateHRO's BA7 Technology Platform Achieves Balance between Transaction Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction

Benefits Administration PlatformDuring the fall, 2009 annual enrollment period for the 2010 plan year, clients whose active employee populations enrolled using ExcellerateHRO's BA7 platform averaged 88% web enrollment (vs. enrollment via the customer service center), with most clients achieving 90% web enrollment or better, driving significant transaction cost efficiency for these clients. At the same time, web enrollment has proven to be a positive experience for the majority of plan participants who use the site. We asked those who enrolled via the web to respond to our web satisfaction survey. When asked to provide a free-form text response to the question, "What do you like most about the site," survey respondents overwhelmingly cited ease of use (explicitly saying the site was "easy," "simple," "user-friendly," and/or "intuitive), followed by efficiency (with "quick" and "fast" among the most common responses in this category). Other significant response themes included the availability and usefulness of plan comparison and other decision support tools, visual design, and overall convenience. Site users also provided many detailed, constructive comments regarding pros and cons of specific site features, supporting ExcellerateHRO's practice of continuous improvement in usability design. In the meantime, as the web continues to satisfactorily address routine transactions and inquiries, more complex requests continue to be routed to our customer service teams, which has exceeded satisfaction targets for the 2010 enrollment period.
