Michael Caruso Biography

Michael (Mike) Caruso is chief operating officer for ExcellerateHRO, with overall responsibility for all aspects of the organization. His leadership of strategic initiatives and operations includes global marketing and planning, regional sales and delivery, service and quality assurance, and product portfolio.
Caruso has more than 30 years of information technology (IT) and business operations experience. Before joining ExcellerateHRO, he was vice president and managing director for the United Kingdom's Department for Work and Pensions, one of EDS' largest clients. He joined EDS during its acquisition of The Feld Group in January 2004. Previously, he was a member of the Financial Services Consulting team with responsibility for delivering EDS' Agile Transformation Agenda to prospective and existing clients. He applied The Feld Group/EDS Agile Transformation approach to improve IT capabilities of clients in manufacturing, media and entertainment, healthcare payor, global financial services, and high-technology industries.
Caruso joined The Feld Group in February 2003. He helped a major healthcare client create a world-class applications development capability in support of its IT organization's overall transformation.
Prior to The Feld Group, Caruso was vice president for Worldwide Customer Support for Candle Corporation, where he led a business unit P&L and a global customer service delivery team for one of the world's largest independent software companies. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at the Kemper Insurance Companies, where he led transformation of the delivery capabilities of its IT organization based on the model introduced at Kemper by The Feld Group.
Caruso has also held various senior management and IT positions with Ameritech and American Express. He began his career in 1976 with EDS in the Operations Development Program. Caruso is an honors graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in finance. He earned a master's degree in management from Nova Southeastern University and has pursued doctoral studies in organization development at Benedictine University.
